The Southwest Trades Foundation is a Non-Profit that was founded by a family of hard-working blue-collar, union and trades background individuals that understand the challenges faced by so many younger Americans today. With careers ranging from power generation, medical backgrounds, industrial labor, to ground security for nuclear sights. Our Board of Directors and staff work diligently to help make the dreams of education, training, and entrance into the workforce a reality.

Sean Dulhanty, President
Sean brings more than thirty-nine years of experience from a power generation facility, including 33 years working directly as a skilled craftsman. Throughout his career, he has witnessed firsthand the critical role skilled trades professionals play in supporting communities, infrastructure, and industry across the country.
His hands-on experience in the trades has given him a deep understanding of the training, dedication, and educational opportunities needed to help individuals successfully pursue skilled trades careers. Sean remains passionate about workforce development and creating pathways for future generations entering vocational and skilled trades professions.
Sheila Dulhanty, Vice President, Secretary
Sheila’s connection to the skilled trades industry began early, growing up in a household where her father worked as a pipefitter and welder primarily building power generation stations throughout the Southwest. Her husband of more than 33 years also spent over three decades in operations, mechanical, and managerial roles at a power generation facility.
Throughout her own career, Sheila has worked on major construction projects, including power generation station and airport runway projects, while also serving in managerial and grants management positions. Her combined personal and professional experiences continue to support her commitment to workforce development and vocational education opportunities.
Gergory Maynard, Treasurer
Greg brings more than thirty-two years of experience serving as a Security Police Officer at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, New Mexico. During his career, he received specialized training and served on the Special Response Team responsible for the protection of special nuclear materials.
In addition to his security and leadership experience, Greg chaired an employee-led, management-supported Behavior Based Safety Program within Sandia Laboratories, demonstrating his commitment to workplace safety and organizational development.
Greg is also an accomplished real estate entrepreneur who has provided single-family housing opportunities in the Albuquerque area for more than twenty-five years. His diverse professional background and leadership experience continue to support the mission and growth of the Southwest Trades Foundation.
Kara Long, Board Member
Kara earned a Bachelor of Science, Cum Laude, from Missouri State University in her hometown of Springfield, Missouri, where she was raised in a rural community that instilled in her an appreciation for hard work and the value of hands-on labor.
She later earned a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Texas Woman’s University in Dallas, Texas, and has spent more than thirty years practicing physical therapy in hospitals and clinics across eight states.
Throughout her career, Kara has worked extensively with individuals recovering from work-related injuries and has taught back care and injury prevention classes for trades professionals in a variety of settings. Her experience supporting the health and well-being of skilled workers brings a unique and valuable perspective to the Southwest Trades Foundation.
